This gas can is made from very heavy duty materials. It feels like it could withstand a lot without any problems; however, when you pick it up, it is very lightweight. Made in a single pour mold with engineering quality plastic, it is leak-free and durable.
It comes with a relatively long pour spout (20 cm) to make refilling your gas tank a breeze. Another amazing thing about the pour spout is that it doesn’t have the spring-loaded safety responsible for slowing down the pouring of gas. The entire gas can empties in about 20 seconds.
The best thing about this gas can is that it is the cheapest on the market compared to some of its counterparts. To me, it seems like this gas can works better than the more expensive branded cans just because of the simplicity of the pour spout and the engineering plastic used on its body.
The only thing I can say negatively about these cans is that the pour spouts, although quick and effective, do not last very long. They need to be replaced every year. The same goes for the rubber washers near the pour spout with a little longer lifespan of 18 months.
There have been some reports of this can not doing particularly well in the heat or under direct sunlight. This is one thing to think about with summer storage. When the time comes to summarize your snowmobile, make sure you put the gas can in a cool, shaded place.

It can fit easily to a rack holder, but if you want to keep the price down, it is easily secured with ratchet straps.
There is a safety release on the nozzle when filling the gas tank, which some people find a little difficult. This safety feature definitely makes the gas pour slower. If you are unsure how to use the safety, there are instructions that come with the can, and I suggest figuring it out before you venture out to the middle of nowhere.
Another perk of this gas can is that it prevents any odor from omitting. It is nauseating to have to smell the extra fuel in such close proximity to you while riding, and this gas can eliminates that problem.

This gas can is my third choice to take into the backcountry. It’s great because it can carry a large amount of gas (3.5 gallons). There are bigger cans on the market, but anything bigger than 3.5 gallons starts to add a lot of weight to your tunnel and is just bulky. This can would be a great addition to any rider traveling longer distances.
It has an exceptionally tight gas cap to make sure that it does not become unscrewed during rough riding. It still has the annoying spring-loaded safety feature that might require some figuring out before using as well.
This gas can is very tall and skinny, which depending on what kind of tunnel your sled has, might be a little problematic. If you have a very short tunnel, this gas can might not be the greatest choice.
It does seem like the can is made from a thinner plastic then its 2.5-gallon counterpart. This could also be problematic if riding through technical obstacles and the chances of hitting trees or rocks are higher.

In order to fill your gas tank, it is best to have a high functioning pour spout. Some pour spouts pour quicker than others, which is helpful when the gloves are off and the temperatures are below freezing.
A slow pouring spout is a recipe for frostbite! Pretty much every rider I know hates dealing with the spring-loaded pour spout as it just takes forever and usually requires you to stand in an uncomfortable position for a long period of time while filling your gas tank.

When purchasing a new snowmobile, most snowmobiles brands usually have an option to add a gas can that is specifically made to fit their sled. Many people buy their sleds used or just didn’t realize they needed the extra can at the time of purchase, and have to figure out a way to rig their gas can to their snowmobile.
It is very important to figure out which kind of gas can is best for your snowmobile. If you have a short tunnel and track, it is probably best to get the smaller gas can. I have always used ratchet straps to secure my gas can, but there are gas can holders that are sold separately as well.
